Merrimack Valley Chapter President Dennis Hebert, vice president, sales and business development, Granite State Credit Union, announced that more than $15,000 was raised from the holiday auction held to benefit Make-A-Wish New Hampshire at the December 3rd chapter meeting.
Hebert’s heartfelt thanks went to the entire Merrimack Valley Chapter committee members, the credit unions, and the crowd of members who attended the meeting and bid on the auction items. “We could not have done it without the big turnout,” Hebert stated. He also gave his special thanks to the event’s sponsors: CU Direct Corporation, Gold Sponsor; New England Employee Benefits Company, Silver Sponsor; Pats Peak, Special Appeal Sponsor; CUNA Mutual Group, Granite State Credit Union, MembersFirst Credit Union of N.H., and Tricorp Federal Credit Union, Holly Sponsors; Bellwether Community Credit Union and JBR Associates, Table Sponsors.
Brian Hughes, Social Responsibility Committee chair, added his special thanks to all the credit unions for supporting Make-A-Wish New Hampshire through the years.
Julie Baron, CEO, Make-A-Wish New Hampshire also expressed her joy. “Absolutely amazing! Thank you all so much,” she said. Wish Ambassador and the current reigning Miss New Hampshire Megan added her special thanks to everyone during the evening and shared her story and wish memories. Megan has been a dancer since age 3 and during her illness, she always dreamed of dancing. Her dream came true when the Make-A-Wish New Hampshire created Megan’s own dance studio in the attic of her home. Since then, she has danced her way to the title of Miss New Hampshire and will soon compete for the Miss USA crown.
On Thursday, December 13, the Monadnock Chapter continued the yuletide cheer with their annual holiday dinner and live auction for the Make-A-Wish® New Hampshire. Twenty-five guests attended the fun-filled evening and were entertained by WKNE DJ and professional auctioneer Greg Pregent. Donna Parker from Make-A-Wish® extended her gratitude to all the credit unions along with Wish Child Samantha and her family. At the conclusion of the evening, the chapter raised more than $500.
The Social Responsibility Committee extends a special thank you to all who helped make both the Merrimack Valley and Monadnock Chapters holiday celebrations a tremendous success!
